
WBB Heads Back To East Coast To Face St. John's

MILWAUKEE -Â Following consecutive defeats for the first time since November, the Marquette women's basketball team looks to rebound on the road this week. The two-game road swing will first see the Golden Eagles head east to New York to face St. John's on Wednesday night.
Tipoff from Carnesecca Arena is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. Ed Cohen (pxp) and Meghan McKeown (analyst) will be on the call for Peacock.

Marquette became the 13th team in country this season to have at least five players score 20 points in game. All five primary Marquette starters have at least one 20-point game this year after Olivia Porter scored 23 on Jan. 8.
DIVERSIFYING THE OPTIONS
While Skylar Forbes is the Golden Eagles' top scorer at 15.5 points per game, three others have shown that they too can carry the scoring load. Three of MU's other starters--Jaidynn Mason, Halle Vice, Lee Volker--are also averaging double figures.
A WALKING DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Recording her seventh double-double of the season on Jan. 14, Halle Vice continues to lead the BIG EAST in the category. The junior had just one double-double through the first five weeks of the season but has recorded six during an eight-game stretch from Dec. 14-Jan. 14.

THE STARTING FIVE
- Marquette and St. John's will meet for the second time this season on Wednesday. It will be the first opponent that MU will see for a second time this year. The Red Storm grabbed the first matchup by seven on Dec. 29.
- Marquette dropped its fourth game of BIG EAST play on Saturday to Georgetown. In three of the last four seasons, the Golden Eagles have lost at least four of its first nine games in conference play.
- Halle Vice recorded her BIG EAST leading seventh double-double of the season last Wednesday. Five of those have come in the last seven games. Without one double-double in her first three BIG EAST games, Vice has four in her last six league contests.
- Despite having its worst 3-point shooting game of the season by nearly 10% last time out against Georgetown (19.0%), the Golden Eagles remain one of the top shooting teams in the country from deep. MU sits sixth in the nation shooting at a 38.4% clip. It is a 7.7% increase from a year ago.
- Marquette's strength this season comes in its experience and continuity as the program is the only one in Division I women's college basketball to return all of its players from the 2024-25 season.

FACING THE STORM
