MTEN Hosts Drake, DePaul In Weekend Action

MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's tennis team will host Drake in its home opener on Friday, January 31, at 11 a.m. CT at the Sprovieri Tennis Complex. The team will follow Friday's home opener with a match against BIG EAST opponent DePaul on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Drake Matchup

Since the 2001-02 season, the Golden Eagles are 0-5 against the Bulldogs. The last matchup between the two teams occurred during the 2022-23 season in Des Moines, resulting in a 7-0 win for Drake.

Drake enters Friday's match with a 2-2 record, coming off a 7-0 loss to Wichita State.

DePaul Matchup

Saturday's matchup against the Blue Demons will mark the 24th meeting between the two teams since the 2000 season. The Golden Eagles hold a slight advantage over DePaul, with 12 wins to the Blue Demons' 11.

The last meeting between the two teams was played in Chicago, where DePaul took a 6-1 victory.

DePaul finished last season as the BIG EAST men's tennis tournament champions.
