Ryerson records his first dual victory as a Golden Eagle
MILWAUKEE -Â The Marquette University men's tennis team fell short against Drake, losing 4-3 Friday afternoon at Sprovieri Tennis Complex.Â

The Golden Eagles opened the match by winning the doubles point with 6-3 victories at the No. 1 and 2 spots, giving them a 1-0 team advantage.

Drake picked up the first singles win at the No. 3 spot in straight sets, giving the Bulldogs a 2-0 team lead.

Freshman Cyrus Ahmad notched the first singles victory for MU at the No. 2 spot, winning in three sets (1-6, 6-1, 6-2).

Senior Blake Roegner tied the team score at 2-2 with a singles win at No. 1 in straight sets (6-2, 7-5).

TJ Ryerson secured his first singles victory as a Golden Eagle at the No. 5 spot in straight sets, only allowing one game in each set (6-0, 6-1). This gave MU a 3-2 team lead.

The Bulldogs evened the score at 3-3 with a win at the No. 4 spot in a three-set tiebreaker.

The match came down to the No. 6 spot, where Drake claimed the win in straight sets to take the overall match 4-3.
