Marquette Athletics Posts Strong Academic Results During Fall 2025 Semester

Fall semester results highlight strong team GPAs, 249 Honor Roll honorees and continued academic excellence.
Excellence in the classroom remained the foundation of Marquette Athletics during the Fall 2025 semester, as student-athletes delivered another strong academic showing across the department.Â
The Fall term saw 249 student-athletes earn a place on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, recognizing those who posted a 3.0 GPA-or-higher. Among that group, 27 student-athletes finished the semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA, showcasing elite performance in competition and the classroom.
As a department, student-athletes combined for a 3.46 average GPA, continuing a trend of sustaining academic success. Team success was led by women's cross country, which recorded the highest team GPA of the fall at 3.75. Among the men's programs, track and field posted the highest GPA with a 3.52.
"The academic success of our student-athletes is a direct reflection of their commitment to being more than just athletes," said Dr. Adrienne Ridgeway. "They embrace the pursuit of excellence in all things, not only on the field or the court, but in the classroom as well."

Department Academic HighlightsÂ
- Marquette student-athletes have recorded at least a 3.4 cumulative GPA in 11 of the last 12 semestersÂ
- The entire women's cross-country team earned AD Honor Roll (3.0-and-above GPA)Â and the team had a 3.75 team GPAÂ (team high).Â
- 82.2 percent of student-athletes were named to the AD Honor RollÂ
- Eight of 14 teams posted a team GPA of 3.4-or-better in the Fall of 2025Â
- Women's soccer player Cate Downs completed her undergraduate degree in December with a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPAÂ
- Mia Oh (WLAX) was named the top CHEM1001 student this semester. Last semester, Hailey Wade (WSOC), earned that honor.Â
- In addition to potentially graduating with a cumulative 4.0 GPA, Sylvia Fochesato (T&F) will complete her degree in three years.Â
- Owen Peterson (T&F) plans to graduate in May 2026, completing his degree in three years.Â
