The No. 5/5 Marquette University men's basketball team (22-6, 13-4 BIG EAST) returns to the road in BIG EAST action at No. 12/12 Creighton (21-8, 12-6 BIG EAST) on Saturday, March 2 at 1:30 p.m. Central time. Â FOX features the television broadcast, with Brandon Gaudin (play-by-play) and Robbie Hummel (analyst) calling the action. Â Following Saturday's outing, the Golden Eagles return home to host No. 3/2 UConn on March 6 for Senior Night.

Wednesday's victory over Providence allowed the Golden Eagles to secure a first-round bye in the league tournament and team can't finish any lower than fourth with three games remaining. Â Saturday's matchup at Creighton (12-6) could put the winner in the driver's seat to claim the No. 2 seed.Â

Marquette Completes Successful Homestand

Marquette wrapped up a successful three-game homestand on Wednesday night with a 91-69 win over Providence.

The Golden Eagles won each of the three matchups (DePaul, Xavier, PC) by at least 22 points, marking the first time since the program joined the BIG EAST in 2005-06 the team has claimed three-straight conference games by 20-or-more points.

Marquette was impressive at both ends of the court in the three outings at Fiserv Forum, shooting 54.8 percent from the floor overall and 43.4 percent from behind the 3-point line as a team. Â Defensively, MU held opposing squads to just 38.9 percent from the floor and 30.8 percent from deep, forcing 17.7 turnovers per contest.
