Marquette Falls 7-0 At Iowa In Dual Opener

MU hosts Georgetown Friday, Jan. 25
The Marquette University men's tennis team (0-1) opened its dual campaign with a 7-0 loss at Iowa (2-0) Saturday evening in non-conference action on the road.
The Hawkeyes opened the match by claiming the doubles point, winning at the No. 1 and 3 positions. The Marquette tandem of Greg Anderson and Fran San Andres was able to earn a 6-3 win in its season debut at No. 2.
Iowa continued its momentum into singles action and claimed each of the six first sets. MU was able to claim the second set in a pair of matches, but the Hawkeyes were able to secure the team victory.
The Golden Eagles open the home portion of their dual season on Friday, Jan. 25 when they host BIG EAST opponent Georgetown at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
