MILWAUKEE - For the fourth consecutive year, the Marquette University men's soccer program has been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and has earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year.
As a team, Marquette accumulated a 3.01 grade point average, thereby qualifying for the academic achievement award. The Golden Eagles were one of 95 NCAA Men's Division I programs to receive the honor.
"The lads are proud of their accomplishment," said head coach Louis Bennett. "Academic awards speak volumes to our culture, dedication and hard work."
The NSCAA Team Academic Award recognizes and rewards all team members for commendable academic performance in a classroom setting.
