Golden Eagles seeking to remain unbeaten in last five against the Panthers
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's soccer team (5-2-1) steps out of conference play on Tuesday night, hosting the the Milwaukee Cup. Kickoff between MU and Milwaukee (4-3-2) is set for 6 p.m. CT at Valley Fields and will stream on ESPN+.
Though the Golden Eagles are just 8-11-5 in the series since 2000, MU won last season's contest 3-2 across town to extend its unbeaten streak in the series to four matches.
Marquette will be seeking back-to-back wins over Milwaukee for the first time since 2008-09.
STRONG IN THE NONCONFERENCE
Now in its third season under Head Coach David Korn, Marquette is a combined 13-4-5 in the nonconference which includes a 6-0-2 mark in 2025.
KORN'S BEST START
At 5-2-1, the Golden Eagles are off to the best eight-match start of the David Korn era, and already have as many wins as they recorded through the first 13 matches of 2024.
BACK IN THE NATIONAL CONVERSATION
Marquette received four votes in the United Soccer Coaches poll on Sept. 15, marking the program's first appearance in the national poll's receiving votes category since Sept. 24, 2023.

Marquette has scored 17 goals on just 65 shots, converting 26.2% of its attempts, the third-best conversion rate in the country.
QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
Despite ranking 198th nationally in shots per game (8.1), Marquette ranks among the nation's most efficient attacking sides.
Though the Golden Eagles are just 8-11-5 in the series since 2000, MU won last season's contest 3-2 across town to extend its unbeaten streak in the series to four matches.
