Marquette’s Season Ends in 10–9 Loss to Denver

DENVER, Colo. – The Marquette University men's lacrosse team (6-7, 2–3 BIG EAST) saw its season come to a close with a 10–9 loss to Denver (6-7, 2-3 BIG EAST) on Friday evening.
Andrew Bowman finished his final game as a Golden Eagle with a career-high five points, while Nolan Rappis also tallied five points in his final appearance at Marquette. Defensively, Colin Maloney and Jadyn Castillo led the way with two caused turnovers each.
Marquette jumped out to a quick start, netting two goals in the opening minute of the game. Denver responded with a 5–1 run to take a 5–3 lead into halftime.
In the second half, both teams traded goals as neither side was able to create significant separation. Marquette found success in stretches offensively, capitalizing on key possessions to keep pace with the Pioneers heading into the fourth quarter.
Trailing by one with just over four minutes remaining, Bowman found space and scored to tie the game at 8–8. Denver answered late, outscoring Marquette 2–1 over the final minutes to secure the 10–9 victory.
