Golden Eagles Defeat Villanova 4-2

MU recorded four singles win in Saturday's victory
 The Marquette University men's tennis team secured a 4-2 win over Villanova on Saturday night.
The doubles contest came down the wire as Marquette duo, Blake Roegner and Hugh Perrill clinched a 6-1 win in the first position. Villanova then picked up two doubles wins in the second and third positions.
Villanova picked up one singles win as Kush Anand defeated Luke Coppage on court five, but it was the Golden Eagles that clinched the match.
MU recorded three straight set singles wins in the victory. Kristian Blagoev logged a 6-1, 6-3 win over Will Monahan in the second position. Clayton Anderson left little room for doubt as he picked up a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Ethan Carr in the third position. Remi St. Laurent faced Thomas Wakefield and won both tiebreaking sets 7-5. 7-5.
Roegner was the only Golden Eagle to see his match go into extended sets as he battled Cooper Gordon. Roegner took the first set 6-0, but Gordon responded taking the second 6-4. The last set belonged to Roegner as he cruised to a 6-3 win.
