10/6/2026 9:17:00 PM | Men's Soccer
Marquette scored its most goals in a game since Sept. 4, 1993
Marquette struck early as Mateo Stoka opened the scoring in the 10th minute, knifing through the defense and ripping a shot from just outside the top of the box to give the Golden Eagles a 1-0 advantage.
After controlling play for much of the opening half, Marquette doubled its lead in the 38th minute when Dominic Firs came off the bench and scored his first goal of the evening. The Golden Eagles carried a 2-0 lead into halftime after outshooting Carroll 19-0 in the opening 45 minutes.
The offensive barrage continued after the break.
Ryan Amond converted a penalty kick in the 51st minute for his first goal of the season before Rio Pehar scored two minutes later off assists from Hudson Torrez and Liam Cahill to push the lead to 4-0.
Marquette made it 5-0 in the 62nd minute when Chidube Nwankwo scored his first collegiate goal off a setup from Enkido Hackaa and Drew Mullins.
Firs then took over just before the 70-minute mark. Twice within two-and-a-half minutes, the freshman punched in a pair of rebounds, stretching the Golden Eagle advantage to 7-0.
Carroll found the scoresheet twice in the final eight minutes as Edin Hajric scored in the 83rd minute and converted a penalty kick in the 86th minute to account for the 7-2 final.
