Marquette records two singles and two doubles wins during the MTC
The Marquette men's tennis team competed in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic last weekend which included top talent from across the country.
In singles play, Blake Roegner completed the weekend with two singles wins and two doubles wins alongside partner Remi St. Laurent.
Roegner faced Oregon's William Semler on Friday and took the win in three sets after dropping the first set 2-6. The senior bounced back in dominate fashion in the second set, cruising to a 6- 4 win. The super tiebreak was a 10-1 effort from Roegner as he claimed his first win of the weekend.
His second win came from a straight set win against James Madison's Zachary Fleishman. Roegner left little room for doubt in the first set, taking a 6-3 win. In the second, Fleishman was left scoreless as Roegner secured the 6-0 win.
On the doubles side the duo Roegner and St. Laurent picked up a pair of wins in impressive performances. In the first match, the duo faced Sven Moser and Thomas Giles of DePaul and recorded a 6-2 victory. The second victory was a 6-4 win over Navy's Tommy and Jason Kim.
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles will compete in the Illinois State Invitational on October 3-5.
