Golden Eagles back in action at Illinois State this weekend
RIVER FOREST, Illinois - The Marquette University men's tennis team opened its fall campaign this weekend competing at the River Forest Invitational, hosted by Northern Illinois.

Alongside Marquette and NIU were the likes of EIU, Western Michigan (WMU), Washington University (WU), Illinois State (ISU), UIC, and DePaul.
The Golden Eagles recorded multiple singles and doubles wins against the field in seven singles draws and three doubles draws.
Koji Heineman competed in the #7 singles draw and earned a spot in the championship but fell to Tom Giles of DePaul (6-2, 6-4).

In their first matches as Golden Eagles, Evan Glebov took 4th place in his draw. TJ Ryerson, Cyrus Ahmad, and Hugh Perrill all took 5th place in their respective singles draws. Â
In doubles action, Perrill and Ryerson earned two wins to advance to the championship in the #3 doubles draw but fell short of the title to NIU.

Golden Eagles will head to Normal, Illinois from Sep. 20 - Sep. 22 to compete in the Redbird Invite.
