Golden Eagles will learn NCAA tournament destination on Sunday
The No. 10/10 Marquette University men's basketball team (25-9, 14-6 BIG EAST)Â concluded play at the BIG EAST Tournament with a 73-57 loss against No. 2/2 UConn (31-3, 18-2 BIG EAST) on Saturday night in Madison Square Garden in the championship game.

The Golden Eagles, appearing in their second-straight title matchup, were paced by guard Kam Jones' 13 points and eight rebounds.

MU saw the Huskies pull away midway through the second half and trailed by as many as 16 points. The Huskies shot over 60 percent from the floor in the second half.Â

Marquette trailed 26-24 at the intermission after a first half dominated by the defense on both sides. The Golden Eagles held the Huskies to just 30.0 percent from the floor, but shot just 32.3 percent on their end of the court. Freshman guard Zaide Lowery accounted for five of the points off the bench. The first half featured nine lead changes and four ties.
