#MUBB Hangs On For 73-72 Win at St. John's

The No. 17/18 Marquette University men's basketball team (13-5, 4-3 BIG EAST) continued BIG EAST Conference play with a 73-72 win against St. John's (12-6, 4-3 BIG EAST) on the road Saturday afternoon.
All five starters finished with double figures in points, led by forward Oso Ighodaro's 17 points and guard Tyler Kolek chipped in 15 points and 11 rebounds for his eight-career double-double.
Marquette started the second half 11-of-13 from the floor to start the second half and led 53-49 with just over 12 minutes left. The Golden Eagles led by as many as 13 points with 6:20 left in the second half on a trey by David Joplin.
Marquette trailed by as many as 10 points in the first half and 34-28 at the intermission. The Golden Eagles shots 41.8 percent from the floor, but 58.3 percent (14-of-24) from inside the 3-point line. MU forced 11 turnovers, but turned those miscues into just eight points.

Marquette returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 8 p.m. CT when the team travels to DePaul in BIG EAST action.
