WBB Hosts Creighton Wednesday Night in Nationally Ranked BIG EAST Opener

MILWAUKEE – The undefeated No. 19/19 Marquette women's basketball team begins BIG EAST play this Wednesday when No. 20/21 Creighton visits the Al McGuire Center at 7 p.m. Central time.

Wednesday's matchup will be the 31st meeting all-time between Marquette and Creighton and first with both teams ranked in the AP Top 25. The Golden Eagles are 4-0 in conference home openers under Megan Duffy.

The Golden Eagles (9-0, 0-0 BIG EAST) are coming off a hard-fought win at Illinois State on Sunday, winning 64-62. Seniors Liza Karlen and Jordan King accounted for 15 of MU's 23 points in the fourth quarter.

Wednesday's game will be on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports with Josh Maurer and Michelle Griffin-Wenzel on the call.

SCOUTING THE BLUEJAYS
• Creighton is coming off a 73-61 win at Wyoming on Sunday.
• Seniors Morgan Maly, Emma Ronsiek and Lauren Jensen combined for 56 points.
• The Bluejays went undefeated at the Cancun Challenge, beating Georgia Tech and Michigan State over Thanksgiving week.
• The Bluejays are third in the conference in scoring offense (77.0) and second in scoring margin (+16.5).
• Lauren Jensen leads the team in scoring at 17.9 points per game, fifth in the BIG EAST.
• Jensen, Maly and Ronsiek were all voted preseason All-BIG EAST.

HOTTINGER AMONG ACTIVE CONFERENCE LEADERS
• Despite not playing in a conference game yet, Frannie Hottinger is one of the more experienced players in the BIG EAST in terms of career numbers.
• The Lehigh transfer is sixth in career points with 1,215 and fifth in career rebounds with 623.
