MU Looking For Success vs. KansasÂ
  Â
While Marquette and Kansas have met on just eight occasions all-time, two of the outings have come during a pair of Marquette's best seasons in school history.
  Â
The Golden Eagles are 1-7 all-time against Kansas, including a matchup in New Orleans at the 2003 Final Four. The No. 6 Jayhawks were able to claim the victory in the final game of Dwyane Wade's collegiate career.
  Â
Marquette's lone win over Kansas came in the 1974 national semifinals when No. 3 MU downed No. 6 Kansas, 64-51, in Greensboro, N.C. Marquette fell to NC State in the championship game, but would return in 1977 to claim the national title in Al McGuire's final game as head coach.
Top-Ranked Wins Rare For MarquetteÂ

Marquette owns a 2-11 all-time record against the top-ranked team in the land, most recently defeating No. 1 Villanova 74-72 on Jan. 24, 2017 at home.      Marquette also defeated No. 1 Kentucky, 83-69, in the 2003 Elite Eight behind a triple-double from Dwyane Wade.
