Golden Eagles host Green Bay Sunday at 10 a.m. CT in home opener
The Marquette University men's tennis team wrapped up its three-match road swing with a 4-3 loss to Princeton (3-0) in-non-conference action Friday afternoon in Madison, Wis.
The Golden Eagles will host Green Bay at 10 a.m. CT on Sunday, Feb. 2 at Helfaer Tennis Stadium in the team's home opener. Marquette posted and 8-1 record at home in 2018-19 and is 19-1 on campus over the course of the last two years.
Princeton opened the match by claiming the doubles point with victories at the No. 2 and 3 positions, marking the first time early in 2020 MU hasn't started ahead 1-0 after doubles. MU claimed the point at both Minnesota and Iowa.
The Tigers were able to claim the three singles decisions necessary to claim the team victory, with the Golden Eagles earning a trio of wins after the outcome had been decided.
Claiming singles wins for Marquette were junior Luis Heredia Gomez, senior Brett Meyers and senior Brandon Shanklin.
