All-Time Series Dates Back To 1922-23
Marquette's all-time series against Creighton spans nearly the entirety of the program's 100-year history.
In the first matchup this year, Sam Hauser's 3-pointer as time expired in regulation forced overtime and Marquette was able to hold off the Bluejays 106-104 on Jan. 9 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Prior to 2013-14, the most recent meeting between the two programs came in the 1998 National Invitation Tournament. MU posted an 80-68 victory in the opening round at the BMO Harris Bradley Center en route to an appearance in the event's quarterfinals.
Marquette has claimed each of the last six outings overall and 7-of-9 dating back to the 2014-15 campaign.
MU Holds Title Hopes In Own Hands
As the final week of the regular season approaches, Marquette has already clinched a top-two finish in the league and now has its sights set on the program's first-ever outright BIG EAST title.
The Golden Eagles earned a three-way share of first place with Georgetown and Louisville in 2012-13, but tiebreakers gave MU the No. 3 seed in the tourney. Wins in each of the last three outings would assure Marquette (12-3) of the championship, while Villanova (12-4) has only two outings remaining in the regular season and could only get to 14 victories.
MU has never been higher than the No. 2 seed, which came in 2011-12.
