MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.--The Marquette women's tennis team traveled to Minnesota on Friday and fell to the Gophers, 6-1. Natalija Popovic was the lone point scorer for the Golden Eagles.
Marquette (1-3) opened with doubles and though they dropped the point, Milica Novakovic and Lesley Foe fought tough at the No. 3 position, dropping a 7-6 decision.
Popovic's win came at the No. 2 slot and was a comeback win to give the Golden Eagles the point. After dropping the first set, 6-2, she bounced back with a 6-3 win and then an 11-9 mark.
Marquette has one match left this weekend and will return home to Helfaer Tennis Stadium hosting Illinois-Chicago. First serve is slated for 11 a.m. CT.
