No. 19 Golden Eagles Travel to Villanova and Georgetown

Marquette opens a four-match road stretch
MILWAUKEE – This weekend the No. 19 Marquette University women's volleyball team travels east to take on BIG EAST opponents, Villanova and the Georgetown. The Golden Eagles with face the Wildcats on Friday at 7 p.m. CT, followed by a trip to battle the Hoyas in D.C. on Saturday at 5 p.m. CT.
Marquette (20-5, 10-2 BIG EAST) suffered its first loss last weekend since Sept. 23 against No. 9 Creighton and will look to continue momentum after sweeping Providence. During that 1-1 week, Allie Barber, who was placed on BIG EAST honor roll this week, totaled 41 kills combined with a league best 5.86 kills last week. She leads the Golden Eagles with 4.49 kills per set this season.

Georgetown (13-11, 6-6 BIG EAST): Boasting an identical record as Villanova, Georgetown has dropped three consecutive games. On the season, Iva Vujosevic and Alyssa Sinnette both average at least three kills a set, posting 3.28, 3.09 kps, respectively, while Symone Speech hits 2.96 kills per frame. Margo Pivonka paces the offense with 8.93 assists per set.
