Career Development
To prepare student-athletes for the challenges of the job market upon completion of their college career, Marquette University and the Athletics Department have established programs to aid student-athletes with career development (i.e. workshops, career fairs, resume building), as well as employment after graduation. The athletic department collaborates with the Career Services Center to offer numerous resources and opportunities to ensure the success of student-athletes outside of their academics and sport.

Magis Team Spirit Cup points will be awarded for attendance of development workshops.
SHAPE (Student Health Allies & Peer Educators)
Also launched this year was SHAPE (Student Health Allies and Peer Educators), student-athletes focused on being mental health resources for peers. The group learned basic skills in holding difficult conversations, toured resources on campus, partnered with other organizations and resources on campus, wrote notes of support for each student-athlete during final exam week, participated on a panel with the campus chapter of Active Minds during Mental Health Awareness Week. AFA (Athletics, Faith & Academics)
Started in fall of 2018 by two student-athletes, Nick Singleton and Markus Howard, athletics, faith, and academics (AFA) provides a platform for student-athletes to gather in community and grow together in their faith. Through prayer and faith filled discussions students dive into relevant topics in their collegiate experience and reflect in prayer. AFA is a non-denominational Christian sports ministry that focuses on developing the perfect balance in our athletic, academic and faith lives as our group builds community each Sunday night at our weekly meetings. Any athlete is welcome to join them on Sunday or follow them on Instagram @marquetteuniversityafa
