The Marquette University men's tennis team (4-3) posted a 6-1 victory over UIC (2-3) Friday night in non-conference action at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
MU opened the match by claiming the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots and posted straight-set victories in five of the six singles matchups. Freshman Greg Anderson clinched the team win for the second time in his young career and Marquette also received singles wins from Daniel Fernandez, Alvaro Verdu, Nick Dykema and Kristiyan Trukov.
The Golden Eagles are now 3-0 at home this season, but won't return to campus for a match until March 2 versus Northern Illinois. MU will play at Purdue on Feb. 20 in the team's next action.
