M Club Hall of Famer and MLS veteran joins Chris Allen's staff after two seasons with the men's program
MILWAUKEE – Marquette women's soccer head coach Chris Allen announced Tuesday the addition of Calum Mallace as Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. A Marquette M Club Hall of Famer and former professional standout, Mallace joins the women's soccer staff after spending the past two seasons with the Marquette men's soccer program.
"Today is a great day for our program as we officially welcome Calum Mallace as our Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator," Allen said. "A Marquette Hall of Famer, All-American, BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year, MLS professional and one of the brightest young coaches in the collegiate game, Calum brings an exceptional combination of championship experience, tactical expertise, recruiting success and a deep passion for Marquette University. Most importantly, he is an outstanding person whose character, authenticity and commitment to developing student-athletes make him a perfect fit for our unique culture. Calum is Marquette soccer, and we are excited to see the impact he will have on our program and the legacy he will continue to build on the women's side."
"I am incredibly excited and grateful to join the women's soccer program as Associate Head Coach," Mallace stated. "I want to sincerely thank head coach Chris Allen for his trust in me and for giving me this opportunity. Marquette holds a special place in my family's hearts and mine, and the chance to remain part of the Marquette soccer family while taking on this new challenge is truly meaningful. I look forward to bringing my experience as both a player and coach to support the continued growth and success of this program. As a father of two daughters, I am deeply committed to helping these young women develop not only as athletes, but as individuals. I am excited to contribute to their growth on and off the field and to be part of their journey at Marquette."
One of the most decorated student-athletes in program history, Mallace was recently inducted into the 2026 Marquette M Club Hall of Fame. A two-time All-BIG EAST selection, he helped lead the Golden Eagles to the program's first BIG EAST regular-season championship in 2011 while earning BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year and All-American honors. Mallace concluded his collegiate career with 39 points on 13 goals and 13 assists in 69 appearances.
Following his collegiate career, Mallace was selected 20th overall in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by the Montreal Impact and went on to enjoy a seven-year Major League Soccer career. He made 85 MLS appearances while spending time with the Montreal Impact, Seattle Sounders and Los Angeles FC before concluding his professional career with Austin Bold FC of the USL Championship in 2019.
Mallace began his coaching career at Northwestern in January 2020 as Director of Player Development before earning a promotion to assistant coach six months later. During his time in Evanston, he assisted in the development of All-Big Ten honorees Ugo Achara Jr. and Rom Brown.
He then spent three seasons on the staff at Loyola University Chicago from 2021-23 under head coach Steve Bode. During his tenure, the Ramblers posted a 26-9-14 record and advanced to the Atlantic 10 Championship match in 2022.
Most recently, Mallace spent two seasons with the Marquette men's soccer program, helping guide the Golden Eagles to a 13-14-6 record while contributing to player development, recruiting efforts and the day-to-day operations of the program.
