Golden Eagles rewrite record books across pair of weekend meets.

The Marquette University track and field turned in a weekend filled with standout performances across two meets this past Friday and Saturday at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta and the Warrior Quad at Wisconsin Lutheran.

"A lot of big marks this weekend, the team is really rounding into shape," Director of Track and Field & Cross Country Bert Rogers said. "We have put on the work that it's starting to pay off."

In Atlanta, junior Riley Ward reclaimed the Marquette school record in the javelin, placing second overall with a throw of 45.22 meters. Ally Broaddus also delivered a strong performance in the field events, recording a personal best of 46.61 meters in the women's discus to move into No. 8 on the program's all‑time list.

The men produced several historic marks at Georgia Tech. Freshman Patrick Clune logged a major personal record in the 1,500 meters, running 3:50.06, which ranks No. 10 all time in Marquette history. The men's 4x400‑meter relay of Andrew Klopcic, Franklin McGee, Bobby King and Blake Frea ran 3:11.73, narrowly missing the school record and moving to No. 2 all time.

Individually, Frea posted a personal record of 21.49 in the 200 meters, tying him for No. 6 all time at Marquette. Klopcic added a personal best of 53.11 in the 400‑meter hurdles, which ranks No. 6 all time and stands just shy of the freshman record.

At the Warrior Quad, the women led the way with multiple top finishes. Sophia Abraham won the 100 meters, while teammate Haneefa Adam placed third. Marquette swept the podium in the 200 meters with Nonic Oelling finishing first, Norah Peiffle second and Sanai Baker third. Oelling also claimed first in the 400 meters.

In the middle distances, Ava Thomas won the 800 meters, while Mia Nutile and Taya Gummerson finished first and second, respectively, in the 1,500 meters. The women's 4x100‑meter relay of Abraham, Oelling, Peiffle and Baker took first place. In the field events, Sara Stout earned a victory in the high jump, while Kassidy Papa placed second and Alexis Boyer finished third in the pole vault.

On the men's side at Wisconsin Lutheran, Mason Cornwell won the pole vault, Jude Anderson placed second in the triple jump and Gus Kasun finished third in the long jump. Alex Matzke recorded runner‑up finishes in both the shot put and discus.

In the hurdles, Charlie Dutmer won the 400‑meter hurdles and placed second in the 110‑meter hurdles, while Owen Peterson finished third in the 400‑meter hurdles.
