BROWN DEER, Wis. – The Marquette women's swimming team delivered a strong performance at the Wisconsin Showcase on Saturday, Oct. 17, earning multiple first-place finishes and showcasing depth across several events.
"This meet provided an opportunity for swimmers to take ownership of their racing by selecting events they had not competed in recently or wanted to try for the first time. The focus was on gaining valuable racing experience, exploring different events, and continuing to learn and improve through competition," Head Coach Rollings said.
Kayla Wieckowski led the Golden Eagles with the highest individual point total of any swimmer at the meet. (610.3) Wieckowski claimed first place in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:33.59 before adding another first-place victory in the 200-yard backstroke, touching the wall in 2:07.25. "One of the biggest highlights of the meet was Kayla Wieckowski, who had an outstanding weekend with two first-place finishes and one second-place finish," Rollings highlighted. Her 400 IM was particularly strong and highlighted her continued progress."
