The Golden Eagles are back home Saturday as they face IU Indy
MILWAUKEE, WIS. - The Marquette University women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision over to Creighton on Friday afternoon.
Creighton opened the match by securing the crucial doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, taking a 1-0 lead.
Aiyana Abbott claimed the first point for the Golden Eagles after seeing her match go into extended sets against Annika Elvestrom. Abbott took the victory 1-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Maria Poon logged the second point for MU as she also saw her match go into a third. Poon defeated Mithila Dixit 6-2, 1-6, 6-2.
Elena Duva recorded the final point for Marquette as she defeated Olivia Minikel 6-3, 7-6, but Creighton had already sealed the match with a win on court three.
