Golden Eagles facing three-straight top-15 opponents
The Marquette women's volleyball team (5-3) dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 7 Wisconsin (6-1) Wednesday night at Fiserv Forum in front of a crowd of just over 10,000 fans.
Wednesday's action marked the first of three-straight top-15 opponents for Marquette this week. MU welcomes No, 15 Florida on Friday to the Al McGuire Center before hosting No. 12 Minnesota on Sunday.
Senior Natalie Ring led the way with 10 kills and freshman setter Isabela Haggard concluded the evening with 23 assists.
Â
The first set was a struggle for the Golden Eagles as they trailed 18-9 before the Badgers pulled away for a 25-15 decision. MU was held to only eight kills in the second set. Marquette trailed 20-10 late and closed out the set falling 25-14. The Golden Eagles were led by Bray who added four kills and one block.
Â
The third set was a battle between the two teams with neither ever fully pulling away. Â With MU trailing 10-9, Radeff leveled the match 10-10 using her defense to keep the Golden Eagles within reach. Despite the effort, the Badgers went on a 6-0 run to extend the lead and eventually pull away for the win.Â
