MTEN Falls To #53 Wisconsin, 5-2

Golden Eagles travel to Northwestern Saturday
MILWAUKEE -Â The Marquette University men's tennis team fell 5-2 to No. 53 Wisconsin Thursday evening.

The Badgers started the match by winning doubles at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, giving them a 1-0 team advantage.
Â
Wisconsin began singles action with a straight-set victory at the No. 3 spot to take a 2-0 lead over the Golden Eagles.

Cyrus Ahmad scored the first MU point of the match with a comeback three-set victory (4-6, 6-1, 6-3).
Â
Wisconsin scored its third point of the match with a straight-set win at No. 1, shortly after that the Badgers secured the team victory with a three-set win at No. 4.

UW followed the win at No. 4 with another singles victory at No. 5 to give them a 5-1 lead over MU.

Evan Glebov took a eight game pro set (8-6) to give MU its second point of the match.

UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles will travel to Evanston, Illinois to take on Northwestern Mar. 1 at 4 p.m.
