
MU Tennis Welcome Nine Signees to 2024 Class

MILWAUKEE -Â Marquette University director of tennis Jud Shaufler has announced the addition of nine student-athletes for the fall of 2024.

On the women's side the team will welcome Aiyana Abbott (Seattle, WA/Seattle Academy and ICL Academy), Luciana Mendoza (Lima, Peru/Newton College & ICL Academy), Joelle Fiallo Schad (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Laurel Springs School), and Elena Duva (Peachtree Corners, GA/Norcross H.S.) on campus this summer. All four will have four seasons of eligibility with the Golden Eagles.

"I am super excited to have what I believe will be a great recruiting class on both sides joining the program this fall. Many of them are already connected from their junior days and now will be teammates," Shaufler said. "This class has great players, but even better people, and I believe all of them will contribute to what has been a great team culture."

For the men's team, Kristian Blagoev (Kenosha, WI/LakeView Technology Academy), Evan Glebov (Lake Forest, Il./Highland Park H.S.), Hugh Perrill (Wayzata, MN/Orono H.S.), Tristian Ryerson (Boca Raton, FL/Grandview Prep.), and Remi St-Laurent (Montreal, Canada/Grandview Prep) will also arrive on campus this summer and have four seasons of eligibility at Marquette.
"This group has the potential to be really special. Each one of these players brings a high level of toughness, competitiveness, and a willingness to work hard to get better," associate head coach Jayson Wiseman said. "This class has shown growth and an upward trajectory in their play leading up to college, and we expect that to continue once we have them on campus and training with our staff."

Prior to Marquette: Third place of the class in Newton College from 2010-2014 … Second place of the class in Newton College from 2015-2019 … Third player in Peru representing in the South American competition … Participated in the South American tournament (2021) and in the Billie Jean Cup Junior (2021) … Earned seventh place in the Billie Jean Cup Junior.
