Golden Eagles back in action for BIG EAST play next week
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -Â The Marquette University women's tennis team fell 6-1 to Illinois State Saturday evening.
The Golden Eagles opened the match by claiming the doubles point with a pair of win at the No. 1 and 3 spots.
Early into singles play the Golden Eagles fell behind 2-1, with losses at the No. 4 and 5 positions.
Seniors Emilija Kojcic and Lara Kaiser took both of their singles matches to tiebreaker sets but fell short.
The Redbirds went on to win all of the singles matches to take the team decision.
UP NEXT: Marquette will host DePaul, Friday, March 8 at 6:00 pm CT at Elite Sports Club – North Shore.
