No. 3/3 #MUBB Dominates Southern, 93-56

MILWAUKEE- The No. 3/3 Marquette University men's basketball team (6-1, 0-0 BIG EAST) defeated Southern (1-6, 0-0 SWAC) on Tuesday night at Fiserv Forum.

Guard Tyler Kolek led the Golden Eagles with 16 points and became a member of the 1,000 point club. Kolek shot 4-of -5 from three, one shy of his career high.

MU had four other players finish the game with double figures as well. 7 of the 15 players that entered the game recorded a steal tonight including Zaide Lowery who had a career-high of two.

Notables:

Marquette moved up to No. 3 in the latest Associated Press poll following a strong performance in the Maui Invitational.
Tyler Kolek surpassed 1,000 career points in the first half.
Southern's Jordan Johnson finished with six 3-pointers (all in first half), tying an opponent single-game record (Villanova's Collin Gillespie and Illinois' Trent Frazier) at Fiserv Forum.
Guard Stevie Mitchell finished with a season-high 11 points.
Freshman guard Zaide Lowery finished with a season-best six points and seven rebounds.
Ben Gold grabbed a personal-best eight rebounds.
Marquette had 38 points off turnovers to Southern's zero.
