Badawi earns first dual win, clinches team victory
The Marquette University women's tennis team (3-2) opened its weekend road swing with a 6-1 win over North Dakota (1-5) on Saturday morning in Homewood, Ill.
The victory was the first on the road for the Golden Eagles in 2021, who will travel to BIG EAST rival DePaul on Sunday, Feb. 21. First serve is set for 4 p.m. CT.
Marquette opened the match by claiming the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 and quickly earned the team victory with three straight-set singles wins.
Freshman Sarah Badawi picked up the first dual win of her career, securing the team win with a 6-4, 7-6 win at the No. 6 spot.
