
Marquette Trio Earns AVCA All-East Coast Region Honors

Barber, Konovodoff and Werch will move to the All-America ballot
LEXINGTON, Ky.—Marquette University volleyball senior Allie Barber and juniors Martha Konovodoff and Hope Werch has been selected to the AVCA All-East Coast Region team, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Tuesday.
Barber, the BIG EAST Player of the Year, earns her third consecutive season on the all-region squad. She led the Golden Eagles to a 28-6 overall record, which matches a program record for wins. The Cedarburg, Wisconsin native recorded 4.66 kills per set and consistently ranked in the top-15 nationally. Barber was one of just four players in the NCAA to recorded at least 4.66 kills per set, while also hitting about a .307 hitting percentage. She will close her career as Marquette's all-time kills leader with 1,871 career kills.
Konovodoff earns a second straight season on the AVCA All-East Coast Region team, also earning All-BIG EAST accolades. As MU's libero she finished the season averaging 4.25 digs per set, ranking in the top-five of the BIG EAST consistently. The Sugar Grove, Illinois product was an AVCA Honorable Mention All-America selection a year ago.
This is the first all-region honor for Werch after she earned All-BIG EAST tallies in the 2019 season. She finished the season averaging 2.82 kills per set, 2.70 digs and hit at a .299 mark to rank second on the team. Werch was stellar at the service line, earning 57 aces this season, ranking 20th in the NCAA and helping to lead Marquette.
