Allie Barber earns Google Cloud Academic All-District honors

The reigning BIG EAST Conference Player of the Year holds a 3.99 GPA in biomedical sciences
MILWAUKEE – Marquette University junior outside hitter Allie Barber was named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® 6 Volleyball Team, it was announced on Thursday afternoon by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Barber, the reigning BIG EAST Conference Player of the Year, holds a 3.99 grade point average in biomedical sciences and is a two-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team honoree. The junior currently leads the BIG EAST with 4.65 kills per set and sits second to teammate Jenna Rosenthal in the league with a hitting percentage of .363.
The all-district teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
