Cloete Leads Way at El Macero Classic

El Macero, Calif. - Junior Brandon Cloete is tied for ninth place after shooting an even-par 72 in the opening round of the El Macero Classic. Marquette University sits in seventh place as a team after the first 18 holes. CJ Swift also had a strong performance for the Golden Eagles shooting a 2-over par 74 putting him in the top 20. Host school UC Davis leads the entire field after day one with an impressive team score of five-under par. Last week's star performer, Pat Sanchez, had a solid outing sitting comfortably in the top 35
Play resumes tomorrow with another 18 holes as the second round tees off at 12:30 pm CT.
