Ali Dawson Wins Singles Flight

Rocio Diaz and Ali Dawson won a doubles final on Sunday

ROCKFORD, Ill. Junior Ali Dawson helped Marquette women's tennis squad conclude play at the second chance regional on a high note, as she won a singles final and joined senior Rocio Diaz in a doubles final victory on Sunday.

Dawson was playing in the top 'Singles A' flight and defeated Haley Dikkinga, 6-1, 6-3 to be named champion. She then joined Diaz in the top 'Doubles A' flight and the duo enjoyed a close 8-7 victory.

"I am really pleased with our doubles play this weekend," head coach Jody Bronson said. "We focused and executed everything we had been working on. Ali played at a great level in every match this weekend."
