MILWAUKEE- Marquette University distance runner Jayne Grebinski was named to the 2009 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division I Women's All-Academic Track and Field Team. The honor marks the second-straight year that Grebinski has been named to the squad after earning the same distinction in 2008.
During the outdoor track and field season, Grebinski recorded the second-fastest mark in school history in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, a time of 10:24.15 at the John McDonnell Invitational on April 17. Grebinski is entering her senior year as a College of Business Administration dean's list member majoring in international business and accounting.
In order for individuals to qualify for the All-Academic team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division I automatic or provisional qualifying standard during the indoor or outdoor season in their respective events.
