At 7-foot-1, Racine-native Jim McIlvaine was a towering presence on the court from 1990-94.

On the defensive end, no one protected the rim better than 'Mac' - swatting 399 career shots, most in Marquette history, including a record 13 against Northeastern Illinois in 1992.

?McIlvain??e is one of only 11 players at Marquette to reach 1,000 points and 600 rebounds, shooting a career 55-percent clip from the field.

The 1994 Great Midwest Conference Player of the Year led the Warriors to their first-ever conference title that season and to a Sweet 16 Run in the NCAA tournament. He was also given the Henry Iba Corinthian Award as the NABC's national defensive player of the year.

McIlvaine left as Marquette's 22nd All-American and the second round pick of the Washington Bullets in 1994 was also the 48th recipient of the McCahill Award.
